Oracle Time 2023 - British Watchmaker’s Day with the British Alliance of Watch and Clock Makers

Our friends over at the British Alliance of Watch and Clock Makers have just made a big announcement. In March 2024 they will be hosting the inaugural British Watchmaker’s Day event, showcasing the amazing work of more than 30 British watchmaking brands. Plus, several brands will be launching special edition watches that will be available exclusively from the event.

For watch collectors and enthusiasts, the day presents you with the opportunity to see some of your favorite watches in the metal and potentially meet some of the colorful characters who helped make them a reality. At time of writing the exhibitor list includes Accurist, Alkin, Arken, Backes & Strauss, Beaucroft, Brooklands, Christopher Ward, Clemence, Duckworth Prestex, Elliot Brown, Escudo, Farer, Fears, Great British Watch Company, Helicon, IOTA, Isotope, MHD, Mr. Jones, Nomadic, Omologato, Pinion, Pompeak, Roger W. Smith, Schofield, Shoreham, Sidereus, Studio Underdog, Tesouro, Vertex, William Wood and Zero West.

If you’re already familiar with the British Alliance of Watch and Clock Makers, then you’ll know that there are a few significant names in that list. Roger W. Smith is one of the most famous watchmakers in the world and sits at the pinnacle of British watchmaking – he also happens to be the chairman of the Alliance. Similarly, the CEO of Christopher Ward, Mike France, serves on the Alliance as its co-founder.

Of course, one of the biggest draws for collectors to the event will be those special edition watches with the majority of exhibitors committing to creating one. The event itself is still more than half a year away so details about the watches are still heavily under wraps but what we can confirm is that Roger W. Smith will be producing a unique Series One and Christopher Ward will be making a special Bel Canto for the event.

The event will be taking place on Saturday, 9 March 2024 at Lindley Hall (Royal Horticultural Halls) in Westminster. Further details, newly confirmed exhibitors and special edition watches will be announced on the Alliance’s channels on their website or Instagram page @britishwatchmakers. And of course, we’ll make sure to bring you the latest information when it’s announced closer to the event.
