World Tempus 2023 - Collectors Looking for Unique Designs and Special Editions for the Mexican Market Come Together at SIAR 2023

The much-anticipated day for Mexican and Latin American collectors is finally here

More than 40 brands will take part in the 17th Salón Internacional Alta Relojería (SIAR) México from October 17 to 19 at The St. Regis Mexico City. Attendees will discover this year’s new releases, global launches, unique designs not commercially available, historical timepieces, and limited editions for Mexican customers specially designed for SIAR.

Once more, SIAR 2023 proves the strength of the Mexican market amid caution in the industry prompted by the global economy. “According to the Fédération de l'industrie horlogère suisse, Mexico was the seventh market registering growth in watch exports up until August 2023 with a share of 16.4%. 2022 was a great year for everybody, Mexico is still a dynamic market despite China’s downturn—a key region for the industry. This positive performance is good news that translates directly to the Salon”, said Carlos Alonso, General Manager for SIAR.

SIAR has consolidated its place in the luxury sector in Mexico and Latin America. This year, the Richemont Group will return with Baume & Mercier, IWC Schaffhausen, Jaeger-LeCoultre, Panerai, Piaget, and Vacheron Constantin. Bulgari, Hublot, and Zenith will be in attendance representing the LVMH Group. With an impressive legacy dating back to 1832, Longines—part of the Swatch Group—will be joining the Salon for the first time. These maisons exhibit the eternal values of watchmaking and the industry’s successful evolution to connect with younger generations.

Notably, Tudor—owned by Rolex and one of the most popular brands of our time— makes its return with a booth displaying its DNA. Brands joining SIAR 2023 for the first time include Gérald Charles, founded by Gérald Genta and now being revived by artistic director, Octavio García, of Mexican descent; Leica, manufacturer of cameras and watches; and Golden Concept, the innovative Swiss company that makes custommade cases for smartwatches inspired in haute horlogerie. Similarly, Jean-Claude Biver, an iconic figure in the industry, has chosen SIAR to globally launch the brand he’s created with son Pierre.

SIAR welcomes historic maisons Bovet 1822, Chopard, Girard-Perregaux, Grand Seiko, Perrelet, and Ulysse Nardin. Attendees will experience the wonderful creativity of independent watchmakers returning to the Salon: Arnold & Son, Backes & Strauss, Bianchet, Cuervo y Sobrinos, Cvstos, De Bethune, Konstantin Chaykin, Kross Studio, Laurent Ferrier, Louis Erard, Louis Moinet, Manufacture Royale, Reservoir, SpeakeMarin y Trilobe. Two all-time favorites among local collectors will be joining the Salon: Franck Muller and Jacob & Co, as well as Seiko and luxury vault makers and watch winders, Buben & Zorweg and Wolf.

Traditionally, SIAR brings together regional and international executives, master watchmakers, celebrities, and brands’ friends in an environment of community, elegance, and sophistication. The event is the perfect forum for showcasing watchmaking tradition and culture, offering maisons the opportunity of getting feedback from a passionate Mexican audience of connoisseurs.

“The Salon is an exception among watchmaking events: 90% of attendees are endconsumers. It is a complete and unifying solution for participating brands. It offers the possibility of networking, selling to end-consumers, and launching limited and special editions targeted for the Mexican market. Additionally, media coverage makes it a wonderful marketing tool. The local industry has fully supported SIAR from its inception. It is a truly unique event”, said Carlos Alonso.

This exclusive invitation-only event will take place from October Tuesday 17 to Thursday 19, from 10 am to 8 pm at The St. Regis Mexico City. Since 2007, SIAR has been a key platform for the development of the watch community in Mexico and Latin America. Throughout the years, as the only horlogerie Salon in the region it’s welcomed more than 130 brands, more than 100 CEOs, showcased more than 15,000 timepieces and hosted more than 52,000 attendees. In June 2021 it launched SIAR Summer Experience, a summer pop up showcasing independent watchmakers that has taken place three consecutive summers.

GMT and WorldTempus are proud to be the SIAR's media partners. During the fair, visitors will have the XXL World at their disposal.
